Thomas Johnes (1748-1816) was a 19th century Member of Parliament, landscape architect, farmer, printer, writer and social benefactor. From 1783 on he and his family were landowners of the Hafod Estate in Wales, where he was active in local life, building a church and school for his tenants, establishing a thriving farm and dairy, and encouraging the construction of roads and bridges in surrounding Cardiganshire.
